Dane began his career in the field of addiction counseling in 2009 as a Substance Abuse Counselor with Spectrum Health Systems, a state government contractor for Georgia’s Department of Corrections, at Valdosta State Prison. After gaining 2 years of direct work experience and meeting all requirements of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia, he became a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor in addition to pursuing his post-graduate degree in Addiction Counseling at Grand Canyon University. Currently Dane serves in senior leadership at the Georgia Administrative Office of Spectrum Health Systems as a Quality Improvement Specialist full time. He is also the newest member of the staff here at Bridgeway Recovery Center where he is a Therapist/Group Facilitator part time.
In addition to his work for the past 12 years with Spectrum Health Systems, Dane provides clinical supervision to those seeking to become certified in the field of addiction as either a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor or Certified Clinical Supervisor. He also has been selected to present at the statewide 2-day GDC Counselors’ Supervisor’s conference for the past five years and is a proud advocate for the substance abuse professionals community. His current credentials include Master Addiction Counselor certification, Clinical Supervisor certification, Co-occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate certification, and Medication-Assisted Treatment Counselor certification.
