Andrea Scott, a native of Quitman, GA, has been a resident of Valdosta, GA since 2004. With a passion for people and their well-being, Andrea pursued a career in nursing, obtaining a diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing from Valdosta Technical College. She furthered her education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Valdosta State University.
Andrea has enjoyed a rewarding nursing career in diverse areas such as mental health, prison healthcare, medical-surgical, and obstetrics/gynecology since 2001. Amid the global pandemic, Andrea's focus shifted from optimal physical health to mental health. In 2020, she returned to her alma mater, earning a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Currently, Andrea is an MFT with an exceptional team at Bridgeway Recovery Center and a therapist for Formation Counseling Services, a faith-based company in Albuquerque, NM. She has experience working with adolescents and adults dealing with issues such as trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, and recovery. Andrea is determined to help individuals realize they possess the tools to overcome their mental health challenges. She is an advocate for positive change and believes that with some coaching and direction, people can achieve it.
One motto encapsulates Andrea's beliefs as a therapist: "meeting people where they are." This serves as a reminder to maintain an inclusive and welcoming therapeutic space.
