Calvitt J. “Cal” Huxford

Calvitt J. “Cal” Huxford is a lifelong resident of Valdosta, Georgia, and a graduate of both Valdosta High School and Valdosta State University. For more than a decade, he has devoted his personal and professional life to serving individuals and families affected by substance use disorder and addiction.

Cal has worked in a variety of clinical and administrative roles with organizations including Peaceway Counseling and Mediation, Greenleaf Behavioral Health Hospital, and Southern Cross Recovery. In addition to his clinical experience, he has also served in a number of leadership positions, including previously serving as Chief Operating Officer of Bridgeway Recovery Center. Drawing from both professional experience and his own journey in long-term recovery, he is deeply committed to helping others find hope, healing, and lasting recovery.

Cal currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Bridgeway Recovery Center, an outpatient addiction treatment facility providing PHP, IOP, and OP services in South Georgia. He is also the owner of Southern Cross Recovery, a sober living program for men dedicated to supporting accountability, structure, and continued growth in recovery.

In addition to his leadership roles, Cal serves as Executive Director of the KECH Foundation, a nonprofit organization, and sits on the boards of Project REACH, a local Recovery Community Organization (RCO), and Olivia’s Place, a sober living program for women.

Outside of his professional work, Cal has been married to his wife, Julie, for more than 30 years. He enjoys saltwater fishing, playing golf, supporting local nonprofit organizations, and spending time helping with his teenage daughter’s softball team and school activities.

His personal motto is:
“Do first by example, value relationships above all else, and be the change you want to see in others.”

Cal Huxford, CFO
