Meet “Cal” Huxford
Chief Executive Officer
“Do first by example, value relationships above all else, and be the change you want to see in others.”
Calvitt J. “Cal” Huxford is a lifelong resident of Valdosta, Georgia, who has dedicated more than a decade of his personal and professional life to serving individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder and addiction.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Bridgeway Recovery Center, Cal leads our mission to provide high-quality PHP, IOP, and OP outpatient services across South Georgia. His extensive leadership background includes previously serving as Bridgeway’s Chief Operating Officer, as well as holding diverse clinical and administrative roles at Peaceway Counseling and Mediation and Greenleaf Behavioral Health Hospital. Driven by both his professional expertise and his own journey in long-term recovery, Cal is deeply committed to helping others find hope, healing, and lasting transformation.
Community Leadership & Advocacy
Cal’s commitment to recovery extends far beyond the walls of a single facility. He is the owner of Southern Cross Recovery, a structured sober living program for men, and serves as the Executive Director of the KECH Foundation. Believing firmly in the power of community-driven support, he also serves on the boards of Project REACH (a local Recovery Community Organization) and Olivia’s Place (a sober living program for women).
Beyond the Office
A proud graduate of Valdosta High School and Valdosta State University, Cal is deeply rooted in the local community. Outside of his professional advocacy, he has been married to his wife, Julie, for more than 30 years. He is an avid saltwater fisherman and golfer who loves supporting local nonprofits and actively helping out with his teenage daughter’s softball team and school activities.
